FAQs

Why are your events sober?

We run sober events as a response to the unconscious consumption of drugs and alcohol in the event space which creates an unsafe and hostile environment, especially for women, young people and vulnerable groups. A conscious space allows access to live events in a safe and sober environment.

What are conscious events?

Conscious events are sober events with a theme of wellbeing. The purpose of the project will be to support, grow and host conscious events for the local community. Conscious events offer an alternative to people who don’t feel that mainstream venues are a safe & accessible place for them to go to and enjoy local culture. There will be a diverse range of wellbeing events catering to local interest that are inclusive, accessible and affordable.

What is Ecstatic Dance?

See our page on this here.

Are there any refreshments?

We offer a wide selection of healthy snacks and drinks to keep you hydrated and snacked up during our events. We have a blend of Vegan food and drinks for the conscious consumer. Typiclaly we have:

  • Tea - herbal and grey + Yogi teas

  • Coffee

  • Smoothies

  • Cacao (previous booking needed)

  • Sacred crystal elixirs

How can I perform at PRISM?

Get in touch and speak to Rob or Nicky about your event. We offer different levels of support from simple room hire through to managed events including AV support, ticket sales and marketing support.

Can I display my art at PRISM?

Absolutely! We usually rotate our resident artist with every new moon and host two at a time. We can also sell your art on your behalf for a small commission. Get in touch to display your works.

Can I help out?

Yes please! We run primarily using our volunteer network and without your help we can’t run events. Do get in touch to see how you can best offer your skills.

In return for volunteering you will be able to access some events for free, this will be discussed when you are inducted.

How much is the venue hire?

It all depends on what you are doing! We have a standard fee for room hire or we can offer a profit share for smaller/newer offering to share the risk of a new event. We know getting new events off the ground can be tricky and we can work with you to ensure your event goes well and we both share in the success.

How do I get there?

PRISM is located just off the A10/14 crossing at Orwell House. The venue is a short walk from Cambridge North Station and there are regular buses just outside as well as cycle lanes into town.

Is there free parking?

Yes! We have lots of free car parking onsite.
